Transparent Joy

This window art at the Helene S. Mills Senior Center in Atlanta not only empowers seniors but provides a new and positive view of aging. When viewed from a distance the 50-foot-wide photomural was designed to reflect an abstract pattern of color and light. From close up it reveals individual photographic images, each with their own life-affirming story. The character of the mural changes with the brightness and mood of daylight. By night it can be viewed from the street when backlit from the inside.

Photographic images that make up the mural were printed on transparency film and installed in the windows.
